About the Author

Dr. Debashis De is the head of and associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at West Bengal University of Technology, and an adjunct research fellow at the University of Western Australia. He is a senior member of the IEEE and member of the International Union of Radio Science. Dr. De is the author of more than 60 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, 50 conference papers, two research monographs, and 10 books. His research interests include location and handoff management, mobile cloud computing, traffic forecasting, green mobile networks, and low-power nanodevice designing for mobile applications. He earned a PhD in engineering from Jadavpur University.

Nelson Lichtenstein is Professor of History at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He was the 2012 recipient of the Sol Stetin Award in Labor History and is the author of twelve books, including "Walter Reuther: The Most Dangerous Man in Detroit", "Labor's War at Home", and "The Retail Revolution: How Wal-Mart Created a Brave New World of Business".

A badly missed chance to assess a charismatic leader

I read this book because, both as a teenager and an adult, I have been intrigued by Walter Reuther. His stirring rhetoric, his youthful, dynamic image, and his sophistication all seemed to set him apart from, and way above, other union leaders. I expected to learn from this book "what made Walter tick," and to better understand the fate of American unionism. I came away with neither hope realized. Instead, I had to slog through an ideologically tinged micro analysis of the history of the UAW, and a depiction of its leader as an opportunist who all too often flinched from making decisions as bold as his rhetoric once he had achieved power. Most disappointing of all, I never came close to understanding what made him tick. While the author concedes in his introduction that it was very difficult to delve below the surface of the public man, surely he could have learned and conveyed more given the prodigious amount of research he conducted, including numerous interviews with close Reuther associates. Add to this the author's writing style--he loves compound sentences with two different messages--and this is a very difficult book to read. Then there is the author's failure to devote more than a modicum of attention to major events in the UAW history--why and how did it merge with the CIO, why did it merge with the AFL, and what precise role did Reuther play in these huge decisions? It says absolutely nothing about the crisis in quality control that so greatly contributed to the decline in popularity of American automobiles, e.g., "Be sure you do not buy a car from Detroit made on a Friday or a Monday!" Finally, in the author's otherwise excellent concluding chapter, he says nothing about the evolution of the economy to a post-industrial era, and the difficulties this poses for maintaining the continued strength and relevance of industrial unionism.

God of the Left

Besides leaving behind a freeway named after him, Reuther is a modern Father of the Radical Left, and has left behind a legacy of Union corruption, crooked party politics, and collective brainwashing. A fascinating book, a fascinating man, and a heck of a story, it's ideologically incorrect in that it exalts Reuther toward legacy status, and it appeases those that believe in the power of government, and the collective mentality of the masses. It's all good and well, says the author, because unions and government usurpation and regulation are all glorious. Horrible mentality, but good writing and research. Reach your own judgements.

Rare useful resource for teams and building team cultures

As a certified business coach, the majority of my business involves "team building" in some fashion, and about half deals directly with improving team or organizational effectiveness. I am constantly on the lookout for new resources and have developed quite a library of slightly useful references. While there are many books and other resources on "team building" and related issues on the market, including some wildly popular best-sellers, few are truly practical and fewer still offer replicable actions that work. "The Team Handbook Third Edition" is a rare exception.

Not only do the authors capture extensive best practices, including straightfoward "how to's" in terms that work for the average manager or team member, they have catalogued what I believe to be the best (most comprehensive, useful and easy-to-use) team tool on the market. I still prefer to help my clients organically build their own strategies for improvement, and recommend organizations and their leaders use outside facilitators for reasons I won't go into here. However, I use "The Team Handbook" as my own reference and reminder of best practices, processes and tools. And, so far, I have given it as a gift for a client's Customer Loyalty process improvement team to use. I plan to present it to more clients in the future.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this work was a documentary of a man's journeys--beyond.

If you are not an open-minded individual and never searching for a truth, then this experience
is not for you and would suggest staying in the comfort of your belief system, and you will awaken
when it is your time.

However--if you are like me, with a feeling, a knowing, that we are more than flesh and bones, more
than a casual thought,only to be planted in the ground and never to bloom again... Then, this candid
account by Mr. Ziewe is a must read.

Jurgen has been gracious enough to share his enlightening experiences with us, experiances that are
open to all of us, even before our time here expires.

I have only experienced this state of consciousness five or six times, and allow me to say, it is
beyond anything, anything, one can paint with words alone.

I am astounded by this book!

I can verify just a tiny sliver of what Jurgen writes. What a absolute treasure! It surpasses any religious text in existence. I've been searching for the key Jurgen revealed in this book for over 40 years. #1 Meditate in the early morning. #2 Go back to sleep and become aware while dreaming.
#3 When you awake in your dream Focus Focus Focus, on your hands, the ground,or the building etc. A thousand thank-yous Jurgen for this masterpiece!

Accurate account of what awaits most of us after death

This book is a must read for anybody who wants to know what likely awaits us after this life is up. This book, though it's basically filled with anecdotal accounts of a single individual's experience, is still one of the most valuable reads pertaining to life after death. From my own personal accounts of what I can recall as being a few brief visitations during my dreams from a few deceased loved ones, combined with many individual accounts from various other afterlife books that I've read I really think that Multidimensional Man may be one of the most accurate books out there. In fact I've found this book to give a more detailed and accurate account of the afterlife than most other books, including even those with more scientific inquiry, and I'm generally a sceptical person concerning anecdotal experiences being entirely reliable.

This book clearly demonstrates that there are many falsehoods floating around out there, even on websites dedicated to the afterlife. The notion that 'most average decent open-minded' people will go to the third realm (Summerlands if you will) after passing on does indeed seem to be a falsehood. I don't want to be a spoiler so I will not post too much more about the book here. This book is an excellent and detailed account of the various possibilities which potentially await us in a truly multidimensional universe. After reading this book you'll realize indeed that truth is much stranger than fiction. I also like the fact that the author is not afraid to bring up subject matter many will regard as inconvenient vs feel good propaganda. I've estimated myself to have read over two hundred books about life in the hereafter, and I would easily place Multidimensional Man in the best top five.
